Rozheen Barekatein (she/hers), ACSW #123348
ADULT THERAPIST
Holding multiple cultural expectations can sometimes feel like standing in different worlds at once, trying to honor where you come from while also making space for who you’re becoming. My own experiences navigating identity, belonging, sexuality, and culture deeply shape the way I show up as a therapist. I aim to bring warmth, curiosity, and genuine care to the work we do together, honoring all the layers that make you who you are.
I see therapy as a space for reflection, growth, and connection. Together we’ll explore what feels heavy or unclear, make sense of patterns that no longer serve you, and build tools to help you move through life with more clarity and compassion. My goal is to create an environment where you can feel safe to show up fully, without judgment or pressure to be anything other than who you are.
My approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I use these frameworks flexibly, centering your lived experience and what feels most supportive in the moment. Whether we’re exploring patterns, reconnecting with values, regulating emotions, or practicing self-compassion, I’ll meet you where you are with intention.
I’m especially passionate about working with QTBIPOC communities, children of immigrants, young adults, and anyone who has ever felt “in between” identities or experiences. Much of my work centers around anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, relationship challenges, and identity exploration. My hope is that therapy can be a space where you don’t have to hold back, a place where your story can unfold fully and freely.
Outside of therapy, I find grounding in time spent with my community, working on pieces at my pottery studio, and cooking comforting meals that remind me of home.
