Gina Ali (they/them), AMFT #117702
ADULT, YOUTH & RELATIONSHIP THERAPIST
As a therapist, my practice is rooted in the notion that therapy is political. Mental health and trauma work require an active acknowledgment of how the systems of oppression around us impact us every day. With that, therapy isn’t meant to be an all-in-one solution, but it is a space where you can build your capacity to feel, process your emotions, and create the necessary tools to help you keep going.
I especially love working with queer, neurodivergent, BIPOC clients navigating complex trauma, seeking to prioritize relational healing in their lives. As a queer person who grew up in an Arab & Muslim family, I draw from lived experience of what it’s like to navigate a world that was never built for us. I’ll support you in prioritizing slowness, honoring your body, and bringing to life the things that you want for yourself. As the state of the world becomes more uncertain, therapy can offer a sense of consistency and stability. Maybe you’re struggling with eating, maintaining sleep hygiene, building routine, or showing up to work. Maybe you’re navigating boundary setting with family, conflict with a partner, or grief in your community and friendships. Together, we’ll collaborate on which tools might be most useful to you to find relief on your terms.
I bring all my skills to our work together, drawing from attachment-based and psychodynamic therapies to explore how your past experiences have shaped the current patterns in your life. I also integrate tools from creative modalities, behavioral strategies, somatic work, and body-based interventions. My approach is always rooted in a trauma-focused and neurodivergent framework.
In session, my vibe is warm, compassionate, and validating while also being direct. I don’t believe therapy should be an echo chamber. Instead, I prioritize gently challenging you in ways that feel supportive to your growth. I also don’t believe therapy is neutral nor that therapists should be neutral. I will show my natural reactions, share my perspectives, all while honoring where you’re are in your process.
You don’t have to carry it all alone.
